Needing to post

I haven't posted to this blog in years! I was considering changing the name to mesh with all my other photo things, but I kind of like having a separate blog to just post stuff that isn't necessarily professional or portfolio work. I don't shoot as much as I used to, which saddens me. I still like shooting and if I want to keep up my skills, I'm going to have to shoot!

Anyway, if you want to see some of my stuff, you can head over to kristenknorrphotography.com or go to my Facebook page, Kristen Knorr Photography. Again, I haven't been posting often and I noticed that a lot of my picture links are actually broken in a lot of these posts. I'll have to fix that someday. I do lie around a lot, since C takes the car most days and I'm pregnant. So I have the time! That would be a lot of posts to go through though. We'll see.

In the meantime, here's a recent picture of flowers that I like. I love tulips in the spring!

Split Toning

There's this little thing called "split toning" that I just found out about and experimented with a little bit. I knew about it before, but it was one of those things I just stored in memory and didn't really think about too much. Then I stumbled across this blog. He does such excellent split toning and the images just pop! So I decided to try that with some of my photos. Definitely not Australia, but it was a lot of fun to experiment with! I used the function in Bridge to get the split toning affect, then curves and layers and Photoshop.

Kickstart

So... I have been neglecting my blogs for a while. I am so sorry for that, you one reader out there! After trying to find a way to post my Festival of Colors pictures effectively, I read a post about how to set up a photoblog. It was suggested that you have 2 blogs: one to show off your best work (portfolio) and one as a soundboard and "things you've learned" blog. I like that idea! So I'll be trying to use this blog as more of the soundboard. I am starting to set up another blog at wordpress, located HERE. I might be a bit too busy to really start working on these, but I'll try and work on them a little bit during the week.
